Terms of Service

These terms are a binding agreement between you and Oriverse Technologies Ltd. ("Adorable", "we", "us") governing your use of the Adorable mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, legally able to enter a contract, and not previously banned from the Service. By using Adorable you confirm you meet these requirements. If we learn an account belongs to a minor we will terminate it.

2. Your account

You are responsible for everything done under your account. Keep your sign-in credentials private. Notify us at hello@oriverse.com promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account; deletion is irreversible and removes your profile, check-ins, saved places, conversations, voice notes, and uploaded photos. Reports you submitted are retained for moderation auditing as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to follow our Community Guidelines, which form part of these terms. You may not:

• harass, stalk, threaten, defraud, or impersonate any person;
• post unlawful, obscene, hateful, or infringing content;
• circumvent, interfere with, or attack the Service, its security, or its rate limits;
• scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service;
• use the Service to send unsolicited messages or commercial solicitations;
• use the Service if you are subject to a sex-offender registration requirement or any court order limiting contact with others.

4. Phone verification & safety

Sending messages requires verifying a phone number. This reduces abuse and gives us a basis to block repeat offenders. We may require additional verification for sensitive actions.

5. User content

You retain ownership of content you create or upload (profile, photos, voice notes, bio, messages, reports). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, display, and transmit that content within the Service for the purpose of operating it. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content already shared with other users (e.g. messages they received) and backups, which clear within 90 days.

6. Place data

Place listings (cafés, bars, hotels, etc.) are curated by Adorable. We work to keep them accurate but do not warrant correctness, hours, pricing, or availability. Verify with the venue before relying on listed details.

7. Real-world interactions

Adorable facilitates introductions; it is not a background-check service. We do not screen users, verify identities beyond the phone number and selfie face-match, or guarantee safety in real-world meetups. You assume all risk associated with meeting people through the Service. Use common sense, meet in public places, and trust your instincts.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers including Firebase (Google) for authentication, data storage, and push delivery; Mapbox for maps and directions; Apple and Google for app distribution and platform notifications; and our hosting infrastructure (Coolify on Hetzner). Their use of your data is governed by their own privacy policies, which our Privacy Policy summarizes.

9. Intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, brand, and curated place data — is owned by Oriverse Technologies Ltd. or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial use.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at our discretion, with or without notice, for breach of these terms or our Community Guidelines, suspected fraud, or to comply with law. You may also stop using the Service at any time. Sections 5, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 survive termination.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oriverse Technologies Ltd. and its directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) NGN 10,000.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Oriverse Technologies Ltd. from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these terms.

14. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these terms will be brought exclusively before the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you a non-waivable right to bring claims elsewhere.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes are surfaced in-app and take effect 14 days after we post them, or sooner if law requires. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance. If you do not agree, delete your account before the effective date.

16. General

If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. We may assign these terms in connection with a merger or sale; you may not assign without our consent. These terms, with the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, are the entire agreement between us about the Service.
